Salmon!

I tried salmon once, it was fresh caught by my uncle and barbecued. I thought it was disgusting lol but kind of want to try it again because it's supposed to be so healthy and it would change things up from my current protein options.
How do you prepare your salmon?

I like it raw....yumm sashimi. But if I have to cook it, let it soak in maple syrup, pinch of garlic powder and soya sauce for 30 minutes and bake in the oven, delicious!

I brush it with olive oil, sprinkle on salt, and grill it.

I can't stand smoked salmon. I find it very salty. I buy salmon fillets, wrap them in foil, then bake or barbecue for 20-30 mins depending on how thick the fillet is. They don't dry out because of the foil, and they're super easy to do. I also do an asian-style salmon and marinate them in soy, garlic and ginger, and stir fry with veges.

Never thought of having it with avocado, but sounds good. I usually eat it plain with either rice or a baked potato.

I get mine frozen (cheaper- $1 for 4 oz) I put a piece in a bowl, add some lime juice, Italian seasoning, red pepper, salt and a couple slices of onion and garlic. cover and pop in the microwave for 5-6 minutes. Even my daughter who is very picky with food, loves it.

I have a couple different recipes I like. Both involve baking at 400 degrees for 20 mins, so super quick meal.
Last night I made mustard-dill salmon. Mix a cup of sour cream with 3 tablespoons finely chopped onion, 1/3 cup chopped fresh dill and 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard. Let sit at room temp for 1 hour. Put salmon on a foil-lined baking sheet, sprinkle with salt and pepper and two cloves of freshly minced garlic. Spread about 1/3 of sauce over top and bake. Serve with extra sauce. That was for a large salmon from Costco.
The other way I like is to foil wrap with olive oil, salt and pepper, fresh minced garlic, onion, lemon or lime juice and lots of freshly chopped tomato.
I don't like the taste of fish, but I enjoy salmon done like this.

I'm just cooking salmon as I type this message :) This is the only fish that I like. And I like it all possible ways - grilled, raw, in the oven, pan seared.
Right now I'm preparing it in the oven with milk-lemon sauce. :P

I love it raw, grilled, broiled, smoked.. Basically anything but still flapping its tail.

I would totally eat that disgusting salmon your uncle cooked. If it's good fish, just a little olive oil and sea salt over high heat. Don't cook it too much! Nom-nom.

The cheap stuff is the farm raised stuff. Don't eat that. Always buy wild caught. And if it has the word China in it do not touch it.
Farm raised has almost no rich omega 3 fats. The reason you would eat salmon.

I like canned salmon (only the Kirkland/Costco brand, though), smoked salmon, and raw sushi-grade salmon.

And that's about it. I've had little to no success enjoying baked/broiled/grilled salmon fillets. I much prefer the texture and flavor of halibut and such to salmon.

He caught it himself in a brook by his house.

I use organic butter and msg-free seasoning on my salmon. Bake it in the oven wrapped with aluminum foil.
