Pre-planning meals: Freeze vs Chill

Hello all, I'm currently on a sick leave/vacation, so cooking on the fly is not a problem (even if cooking all in itself is a challenge to me xD). However, I'm returning to work on 4th January and I'd love to pre-plan my meals and bring lunch from home.

I did it before and it was the biggest factor that brought me to a nice weight loss. But before I was always limiting myself to things I know I can freeze without killing their taste after reheating: beans, lentils, chicken breast. And more or less this was my main menu. Not fun.

What do you freeze? How do you freeze it? What do you keep in the fridge and how long it can stay in the fridge without going bad?

i freeze sausage soup it does well but i do not put carbs in it before i freeze it as the pasta or barley will turn to mush when you thaw it cook it in microwave, spagettii sauce with meatballs freezes good, lasagna meat or cheese freezes nice most things i keep frozen one or two months then they become unknown blobs of food in zip lock baggies or rubbermaid totes or foil covered unknowns in freezer,, we tend to cook one pot meals then portion them out into one serving containers as we freeze them, frig time for a food depends on your frig settings on how cold you are keeping food at factory settings or colder...usually after a week you get tired of looking at whatever left overs are sitting on shelf...LOL...before it turns green and starts to walk around in there..we just bought a seal a meal machine so the freezer life will be longer as less air means less freezer burn...good luck with your pre frozen meals i use a lot of zip lock freezer bags and double bag everything...you might want to date them with a sharpie pen too...
