Just don't add sour cream or eat them with chips (that ruins health benefits).

Why do sour cream or chips "ruin" the health benefits?

Doesn't sour cream have those bad fats in it? Some people use mayo in their guac too. Foods high in saturated fats ruin a healthy food.

Saturated fats are just like sugar and other things some people call "bad". In the context of an overall well-rounded diet, there's nothing wrong with eating them in moderation. They don't "ruin" anything, they just shouldn't comprise a large portion of your overall diet. Eating a couple tablespoons of sour cream (or mayo, or a big, juicy steak or whatever) one meal per week isn't going to give you a heart attack or turn you into a pile of blubber.

Avocados are great with a bit of salt and pepper with a squirt of lime juice.

Absolutely nothing wrong with sour cream :noway:
saturated fat or any fat does not ruin healthy foods.
This fat demon myth was spread around in the 80's, and has been widely debunked since then.

There are new nutrition guidelines coming out about that! However, when I eat animal meat or fat (rarely) I eat the more expensive grass fed, pastured, and/or organic varieties. It's easier to afford if it's eaten sparingly. You are right that 'lowfat' was an 80's thing.
