I have finally made my mind up to lose weight. At the moment, I am succeeding, but I know I'll soon need lots of encouragement as I have to lose at least 30 kgs and this is only the beginning of the journey. I have noticed that the people who surround me are not really encouraging rather they tend to start feeding you lots of food instead telling me that I can stop my diet for once! So I have stopped accepting invitations. I am not very motivated to do any sports. I have however increased walking and I use my car much less. My three Shih Tzus also help me a lot as they love walking. But I should do much more. I welcome all the help I can get and I am more than willing to reciprocate!

Hello Newmeadow,
Thank you so much for your encouraging words. The hardest thing for me is to abstain from cheese which I adore, and that for two reasons. Firstly because I must be a bit intolerant to it and I pay dearly for eating it! Secondly, I love the fully rich in fat cheeses, which are no good for dieting!
Thank you also for being my 'unofficial' friend! I appreciate that very much!I have finally made my mind up to lose weight. What a blessing! Shih Tzus are the most precious dogs in the world. I envy you!
I would imagine it's a unique challenge to eat less food, or abstain from certain types of foods (if this is the way you're thinking of doing it) in the country of Italy where the most delicious food in the world is found in such abundant quantities. I've been to Italy and also live in an area of the U.S. which is heavily populated by Italian Americans. I know they love to feed their friends, relatives, neighbors - everybody really. It's very warm and endearing but I suppose it would pose a bit of a challenge when trying to lose weight!
Peruse the community forums and watch the conversations. Send out friend requests to those who seem compatible with you and those who have what you want.
I don't accept friend requests myself personally because I choose to do this solo here, but consider me your unofficial friend and PMs are welcomed and will be responded to.
You sound motivated and serious about what you want. You could do quite well.0
