"The Burn"

I've just started jogging again and have started on a very light run/walk regimen to get back in the game. I will run for 3min, walk for 2min and do that for half an hour. My problem is not with my breathing or heart rate it's with the incredible burning in my calves! I don't remember it being quite this bad when i was running years ago... is this just my body adjusting or am I doing myself damage?

I just started running for the first time in February. I did notice the same thing. The whole time would my calves would be on fire. I just kept going. I'd usually be really sore, too I don't feel it anymore. I think as long as you aren't feeling pain like an injury, you may be readjusting.

I don't like walking though, so I never did incorporate it into my jogs. I tend to feel it in my shins when I walk, but maybe the burn is part of the slowing down and speeding up process. Not sure, just throwing something out there.

    Good luck to you!
