It's ONE DAY. If you missed one workout, couldn't work one day, felt sick for one day, didn't have your phone for one day...............................your life wouldn't be greatly affected.
If you're worried about overeating, then just eat less somewhere else throughout the day or even try to get in some physical activity to help offset some of the calories.
If people are gaining 5lbs a year through the holidays.......................it's because they're eating MORE from Thanksgiving THROUGH to New Year's.

Did we all forget the lessons we learned and shared about Thanksgiving? It was a month ago. Enjoy yourself, and your families and friends. Eat responsibly, but have fun. Log what you've had, or not, get back to it the next day. One day will not ruin weeks worth of effort.

Moderation, not deprivation. Enjoy the holiday foods and company then get back to your regular program the next day.

We really need a thumbs up system here...

For now, "What they said!" will have to do. :D

Don't forget that there are a lot of people from around the world on the website, so most won't have celebrated Thanksgiving :)

You make the choice to pig out or not. Unless people are tying you down and force-feeding you, which, if that's the case, you have bigger problems than potentially eating too much. ;)

Just log what you eat accurately and honestly and then move on. :)

I recognize that I have ZERO will power when it comes to holiday meals and snacks. I have already decided that I am going to enjoy them and not beat myself up. I am also going to get in a reasonable work-out Christmas morning and eat a healthy meal before I leave my house. After that, I'm just going to have fun.

I did manage to skip the holiday lunch that my office provided us today, though, so I save a few hundred calories there.

    Hey!

Based on the science, you could probably overeat by 10000 calories over the Christmas period, assuming you eat rubbish for 3 days straight, that's quite an excessive amount.

That only equates to 3 lbs weight gain.

So in terms of all that 'hard work' it's not really the end of the world, given that it's oncs a year.

Don't beat yourself up over it
