It's a METs 8.5 activity --- running upstairs is a METs 15.0 activity, walking downstairs is a METs 3.0 activity. They don't exactly average but this is a good safe choice between them.0 -
Yes, don't forget to account for the going down part. So 5 minutes of up and 5 minutes of down.0

Oh man 10 mins, next time do 5 mins warm up stretching, 5 minutes easy exercise, 15 on the stairs 10 min cool down with some stretching = hey presto you've just done a 1/2hour session and burnt loads more cals :-)
