Does anyone have a Fitbit? Would you recommend one? Or is there something else you would recommend? Thanks

I have a FitBit HR and love it. This model tracks your heart rate, steps, calories expended & even the quality of your sleep. There is a timer feature (I double click on the side button at beginning of a workout & double click again as I finish) to allow you to check your heart rate, distance, steps, & calories estimated to have been used thus far in your workout, to help you meet or surpass the workout goal you are striving for. After a workout, using the FItBit phone app, you can let the wrist worn fitbit "sync" & then it stores all your data...for a workout the app shows you how much time was spent in 'fatburn', 'cardio', and at 'peak' heartrate. The data it stores and keeps I have found to be quite helpful. I am still a novice in my usuage of all it does, but find the sleep monitoring of it to be quite interesting. Best luck in choosing the right model for you--also competitors are putting out similar products. I have not been disappointed in the money spent on this device-health fitness accessory! I do think with aerobic workouts that the step counter mechanism may underestimate steps walked, as in my experience they have NOT matched a regular waist worn pedometer (I'm guessing the arm movement throws off the motion tracking step movement) For walking or jogging with wrist not moving outside of the set stride motion, this may not be an issue--but if you are mostly just planning to use it to count steps, save money & look at the features with a clip on model, it might suffice. Best wishes in choosing what may suit you the best!0

I have the clip on one. If you do a elliptical make sure to post it on MFP and it will show extra calories burned while wearing it. fit bit shows how much distance you have traveled across the ground. So going up stairs you don't travel forward that much. I do love mine I have worn it every day since mid March.0
