Some basic questions about fitbit and MFP..

Spent hours last night researching this and could not find answers for some basic questions. This is in relation to how Fitbit works and how it syncs with MFP.

1. What's the point of manually logging exercises into MFP/Fitbit if Fitbit already estimates my calories burned based on my heart rate? If I do a non-step based workout such as biking.. won't it estimate my calories burned based on my heart rate?
