Actifry - Yes or No?

Hi all, Ive been having a look at the Actifry recently as something to help with meal prep, just wondering if anyone else has one and what their experiences are with it. Would be interested to now if it can make chicken, fish etc and if you think it is a worthwhile investment?

    How much do you currently fry?

    Can you use an oven and fry light, bake, roast, non-stick saucepans ...alternatives ...you can par boil fries and put them in the oven tossed in a teaspoon of oil with herbs / seasoning ...or even do butternut squash in the oven

    If you will use it then fine

    If you won't it will just be an expensive piece of kit taking up work top space ..which is where I got to every time I considered getting one

    I use mine a few days each week to make home made chicken nuggets, fries, hash browns or veggies. Works well.

    I've had one for about three years.

    We bought it for my husband because he loves fries. I used it a number of times for other things and it's not much different than a non stick pan or an oven. It was a lifesaver once when my oven and stovetop both died on the same weekend and I cooked the entire meal on it.

    Upside: Fries are much healthier with 1 spoon of oil. Good quick solution for frozen veggies.

    Downside: I hate the noise it makes, a loud humming sound. It's very big.

    Probably wouldn't buy it again, but I don't hate it, just don't think it's worth the money.

    I bought one of these. It works great for anything that has been previously fried. Chicken patties, egg rolls, frozen french fries come out great. I haven't tried home made foods yet.

    I have had one for awhile now, and for me it was a bad purchase. It was expensive (I bought when they first came on the market). I'm really not that impressed with it. I found the fries coming out of it unremarkable. For me, no better than the oven method. Tried other recipes...at least it doesn't burn the food. Maybe mine doesn't work optimally? I don't know but I don't recommend the purchase.

    I dont have an actifry but i do have a belinni air fryer which is really good. Probably use once or twice a week. It does what a deep fryer or an oven could do but a bit quicker. Eg you can roast a chicken in it or do veggie chips (zuchinni chips are the best). I really like it but its fairly noisy and during summer its nice not to have the oven going.
