Motivation and inspiration

I am a mom of three under two. I spend my whole day with my kids. I never feel like I will get my body back. I need someone to push and motivate me.

YOu've got this, honey. Make your kids part of a healthier lifestyle. What are your goals, and how are you trying to get there right now?

I try to make things a healthier life style when I cook. But the problem I run into is my husband and step son is very picky eater. My daughter is like me and loves vegetables. But when I make stuff and my husband and step son don't eat it, it leads me to make things they enjoy instead of healthy. It hard because of the situations and we really don't have the money to make 2 dishes every nigh for dinner.

Instead of making two dinners, why don't you prepare your meals half your way and half your husband's way? That way no one misses out? Make plenty of vegetables, and then some meaty and starchy dish. You know what I mean?

If you don't have the money to make all of these dishes every night, why don't you compromise and take turns? Have it the girl's way one night and the boy's way the next night? Or, are the boy's uncompromising in your family? Like they are in so many?

The boys are very uncompromising :( and I was always taught what mom cooks you eat but they are very different and my husband will get on me that I can't starve his son because he won't even try anything. :(

I do make sure I make a veg a starch and smear every day. But it's simple things likes enjoy baked chicken verses fried..... But my husband won't try baked chicken at all. My step son will try stuff if his father isn't around. Like tonight I made baked chicken , rice and pinto beans. Then I had to make my husband cutlets for when he got home. I'm trying to cut out the breaded or fried food.

If he gets hungry enough he'll eat it. Tell your husband that this isn't just so you can lose weight but you, as parents, will lead by example to teach your children to eat healthy foods. Look at all the children who are gaining too much weight, having high blood pressure and getting diabetes. It may be difficult in the beginning but you want to do all you can to keep your children healthy and teach them so they can continue into adulthood. Losing weight will be good for you and a wonderful way to show the children what healthy eating can do. Turn the tables on him. There's not one lie in there because you are the ones who teach your children how to do things. If they hear you say bad things then they repeat it right? Well, eating habits as well as getting exercise are good things to learn. Kids watch TV, play video games, text, sleep but too many don't get outside to play or ride bikes. Even if his son is slim by nature, that doesn't necessarily mean he's healthy or will remain that way if he continues to eat unhealthy foods.

My toddler already prefers beans a vegetables over chicken or bread. I have tried really hard to teach her good eating habits. She will choose a apple over chips or cookies. I do try to enforce this upon my children but being its my step son i can't even try to enforce anything because I'm told I'm to harsh. I deal with a lot of difficulties regarding this because he's not " my child". I already feel as though he is lazy. I get on my husband about him. My stepson is either always watching tv. Playing on his game system. He won't really so much hands on and doesn't like going outside or running. We even try to put him in Tball and he would walk from base to base, not even run. When I say something about it my husband and my husbands mother always make excuses for him.
I try to make it so mydaighter plays outside for between 40-60 mins everyday. This has become tricky because I do have 4 month old twins. But I still make it possible. If the weathers bad I try to at least bring her to the mall so she can walk around. I rather he read( try to read) her books when she doesn't want to build with her block: Legos or color.
    Last night o was successful
Because I was able to have my step so. Eat pinto beans where if his father was with us he wouldn't.
