To post or not to post.......

Every morning and afternoon I walk 30 minutes pushing a triple stroller with 63lbs of children in it. I have tried many different searches in the database, but don't think I have found anything very accurate to post. Should I just leave it, or is there a simpler way to determine the calories burned. (A heart rate monitor is not an option right now. )
I am thinking of just leaving my calories and look at it as extra burn, but don't want to mess up my intake too bad and end up really hungry in the evenings.

I THINK you can do it as a leisurely walk in the exercise section and know that you are likely burning MORE calories than that, but i doubt it would be enough of a deficit to hurt you with your intake. I would think of it as an extra boost to your fitness / weight loss goals! good job on those walks!!!0

I log my pre-school run (buggy plus baby plus buggyboard with a 4yo on it) as moderate pace walking, which I think underestimates the effort required pushing the buggy but better to under- than over-estimate!0

there is an option of pushing a stroller under walking. maybe you could double the time you did since you are pushing 3 instead of 1. MFP overestimates a little anyways and you cant be sure without an HRM so thats what i would suggest. i have 2 and used to estimate my walks with them or carrying them as double or 1.5 time before i got my HRM. good luck!0

There is the option "pushing or pulling stroller with child" in the exercise database.0

If you come back in a swet I would say it would be equivalent to a brisk walk. 5 mph.
The site below is fairly accurate and although it doesn't have pushing stroller under training and sports activity, there is pushing a wheelchair which may be close to 63lbs???

If I don't break a sweat or have trouble breathing I don't log it. I just walked 20 minutes pushing 86 lbs of children (3 of them) and didn't log it. Next time I'll wear my HRM and see what it says.
It's up to you though.0 -
I just log my walks with my girls as Walking 2.5. I just know I burnt more. I haven't found a better desription.0

Thanks everyone! Great ideas. I think I'm gonna put it under the walk with stroller and know I have done more. It definitely makes me break a sweat...we live on a hill that I take twice lol.
I love this message board!!!0
