That is a very tough goal you have set yourself. Why not just start to eat at your calorie goal and see what happens? Losing weight too quickly means your more likely to put it back on.

Way to go for setting a great goal! While the person above is correct, I know that I'm the kind of person who needs a big start to really keep going. I'm just about in the same place you are - I'm at 185 and hoping to be down 10 pounds by the end of this month. If you don't normally drink enough water, your goal is pretty reasonable as you tend to lose 2-4 pounds just in "water weight" when you start drinking more water regularly.

That said, don't be too hard on yourself as you start this journey - the path to long term success is small changes that you can sustain and maintain (I say that as someone who spent my 20s losing the same 20 pounds over and over, and gaining a bit more back each time - but in my 30s, I've been better about making small changes and am now going the opposite direction in that yoyo - it gets lower and lower each time now before I realize I've make mistakes and get back on track).

Any who - go for it if you like to hit things hard core, but RuNaRo.. gives good advice in that sometimes its good to focus on the small successes when our larger goals still seem out of reach!
