New Year Weightloss!

Hey Everyone! I was got really into MFP throughout the months of October and November and started seeing great results. Unfortunately, I have gained all of the weight back over this dreadful month of December. I am looking to shape up in the New Year starting January 1! My goal is to lose around 40 pounds. I would love to hear from some people in a similar situation and build up some support for this lifestyle change.

Many of us have gained a fair few pounds this Christmas (me included!) - you know what? It's okay. You have the right attitude, you KNOW how this is done so there is no reason whatsoever why you should feel anything other than hopeful and positive! You've got this. Happy new year to you :)

I'm right there with ya! I was in shape several years ago and then my second child was born and I slipped back into old habits. I food I eat is pretty healthy, but I like to eat LOTS of it! Decided to start back on here on MFP and tried to beat the Jan 1st rush :)

My successes so far (it's only been 5 days):
I've worked out everyday for the past 5 days, hiking, cardio, yoga, and strength training. I'm a teacher and so don't have work this week. I can't maintain this schedule once work starts up, but I have a plan for that, and I decided that there was no reason not to use this time to its fullest just because I can't do it later!
While I exceeded my calorie goal several of the days, it was usually by less than 200 calories and that's during the holiday season, so I'm counting that as a win!

    My challenges going forward:
Staying motivated past the beginning of Feb. Obviously there's the usual running down of the New Year's Resolution energy, but the first week of Feb is also keeping me motivated at the moment because I'm going on a large backpacking trip with my students (middle school age) that is very physically challenging. Being 10 pounds lighter for that and upping my strength and cardio in the next month will make that trip much easier to handle! But I'm concerned about keeping up after that's over - I definitely need to lose more than 10 pounds (need to lose 30-40).

Any who - thanks for a space to journal some of that, and I would also love to hear from other people on their journey!
