Hi everybody!
I have been on this diet since september 2015 and it's going well. But now that Christmas passed there is a looot of leftovers at home (a lot of high carbs/high fat yummy food that Im trying to avoid). How do you manage to not eat those leftovers? I don't want to succumb to my temptations!! I need help!!

Honestly after so many days I get rid of it if no one else wants it. But then again I've changed how I eat from the high carb and sugar.0

Just because food is available doesn't obligate us to eat it. It's hard to resist temptation sometimes, but stop yourself first and ask yourself if you would be eating this if it wasn't available right at this moment. It really doesn't benefit you other than a few good flavors briefly on the taste buds. If it's going to add unneeded calories to your day then best to just pass it by.0

I got loads of sweet things as gifts, I've portioned them all up in a box with the calories and nutritional value on a label. That way if I do have something it is in a sensible portion and I know what I'm eating!0

I will totally derail and eat about 8 portions in one afternoon. I've spent this whole month trying to get a handle on my relationship with free and fattening foods that I would never buy, but love to eat. Moderation has started to work for me, until yesterday when I just ate a ton of candy at work. My goal is to master moderation and keeping within my calorie count in the face of free food. As you work on that, though, you might need to throw some of those left overs out .
It takes a long time to change some of our habits with food. Each episode of temptation is another opportunity to learn moderation and portion control and how to achieve that. One thing I've found useful is to promise to buy myself a box of See's candy later, if I don't eat any now. I have yet to buy myself a box and have managed to maintain my weight this month, with only a few slips. In the past I've gained 5-10 pounds in December.0 -
Thank you so much for the good ideas guys! Moderation is definitly not easy...especially when having a sweet tooth. I'll keep your thoughts in mind!0

I can't do the moderation thing with some foods, so right after Christmas I froze some of the squares, gave all the chocolates to hubby to take to work and tossed my salty indulgences in the trash. Hate to throw out perfectly good food but better in the trash than on my *kitten*. Lol. By doing this and getting my focus back I lost 2.2 lbs this week.0

I do a combination of things: 1) I eat some of the leftovers in appropriate portions; 2) what I know I can't eat before it will go bad, but I don't want to get rid of, I freeze in appropriate portions for later; and 3) I pitch it. I really have absolutely no aversion to throwing away food these days.0
