Hello. I have been an MFPer since June 2014. Met my weight loss goal of 42 lbs in 2015. Looking for friends to keep me motivated and who I can motivate to fitness.

Hey guys! I work at a gender and sexuality unit at a university. Since around 2012, I picked up about 20 pounds that I really want to get rid of. I'm only really now developing eating habits, fitness routines, and other strategies to get the weight off. My BMI is about 27.5, and that just makes me feel... sad! I was at a great weight 4-5 years ago (no idea how I got there or how I kept it off), and want to return to that. For vain reasons, sure, can't help it!, but also to not feel blubber around your waist when you bend over or take a seat, amirite?! LOL. I also want to feel healthier and want to take care of my body, because it has to take care of me for quite some time still!

My goal is a minimum of 1000 calorie deficit (I'm going up to about 1200 - 1500 deficit lately), a cardio workout (Weider Ruthless currently), and 10000 steps a day.

Might sound a bit extreme, but once I reach my goal weight, or even ultimate goal weight, I'll slowly readjust and take it a bit easier.

I do plan on staying at 1800 calories a day once I reach my goal weight in order to make the occasional allowance every weekend or on occasions with family and friends. If you know you've been building a say, 500 calorie deficit daily from Monday-to-Thursday, then you can have a drink or two with friends, and maybe a small slice of cheesecake once or twice during weekends, right? If you look at it strictly as calorie in / calorie out, I think this is a solid plan.

Anyway. I've lost about 2kg since about 11 December (4.5 lbs or so). Not a monumental feat, but I planned it as such due to Christmas and New Year, and the overwhelming pressure to socialise and be merry with food and drink (you feel like a partypooper if you don't participate!). So my goals are to lose 1 kg every 10 days, to account for the occasional slip up, or meet up with a friend.

Feel free to add me, and I look forward to some mutual support and encouragement!

Going to try this again. I managed to talk myself out of trying late this year. It's time to reset. I could use some friends to help motivate. I need to lose about 150 lbs.

I've added most of you, and anyone reading this can feel free to add me.

I'm 33, mom to a 5-year old. Currently looking for work (applying to a couple dispatcher jobs right now after ending a stint at a call center right before Christmas), and looking forward to returning to college in fall.
I'm a volunteer firefighter and will be doing EMT school in Spring/Summer, so I want to lose weight and get stronger and more fit so I can do those jobs better and move into more active/hands-on roles.

My goal is to lose around 150 pounds and, if I can do it in time (by 35 for Army or 39 for Air Force), I will be
joining the military, because I have regretted not doing that for years.

Great idea for a thread, thanks for posting it. Sending out friend requests. :)

I am a 35 year old woman looking to lose around 100-125 lbs, though I'm not sure what my ending weight is going to end up being.

I am mostly interested in losing weight for health reasons. I've let myself get very sedentary and I've started having a lot of weight-related health problems that I am hoping to reverse.

I'm Denise, 33 year old wife and mum of one from the UK. I've gained lots of weight over the past 12-18 months due to a knee injury. I want to get back into good health and fitness habits. Help!
