Does anyone know how to make 'healthy' fondant?

I've been watching the show "Ace of Cakes" and I was wondering if there is a way to make healthier versions of those pretty cakes.

Considering the amount of confectioners sugar needed to make fondant, I'm not sure there are any alternatives, but I'd love to know if there are...I love to decorate cakes, and have taken many classes, but have yet to find a good substitute for gum paste, fondant, or royal icing.0

I'm an avid cake baker and decorator and have never heard of a fondant substitute. I usually buy Satin Ice or make my own which consists of powdered sugar and marshmallow. Of course, most people don't eat the fondant anyways... just the frosting and cake inside!0

I agree. Fondant isn't really delicious. I don't eat it.0

Just focus on making the cake itself healthier? I do t know, I refuse to scrimp oncake decorations.
Fondant is basically powdered sugar. So no, there's not really a way to make it healthier, apart from using less of it. You could use more fruits to decorate, and perhaps inedible decorations. At least it's not as bad as buttercream icing...:flowerforyou:0
