Trying...once again

A little over a year ago I signed myself up for a "My Fitness Pal" account so I could jump on the path of being healthier and happier. Unfortunately, that only lasted for a month or so. I've tried many many many different things, some of which we're dangerous to my health. I was-and still am, very desperate to lose the weight. I'm cutting out soda, juices, and any other drink that isn't water, until that addiction is gone. No more snacking when I'm bored-only when I'm truly hungry. Along with smaller portions and better choices on what I fuel my body with. My mom is my only supporter right now, and I'm sure I'm gonna need more. People who are willing to give out some tough love and some great advice on what I can do to resist temptation. This is a battle we all face either together or alone, and alone is no fun. Your advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Slow and steady wins the race. Don't do drastic things. Make small changes that you can live with forever. Only eat foods that you like and don't eat foods that you don't like.

If I were you, the things I'd concentrate on are "No more snacking when I'm bored-only when I'm truly hungry" and "smaller portions and better choices on what I fuel my body with" and forget everything else. Eat what you normally eat but choose lower-calorie options within those foods.

I'm in the same boat....have tried it all but I keep coming back to MyFitnessPal as I think it's simple and has the support that a lot of other online communities don't. Happy to add you as a friend so we can motivate each other. I want to challenge myself to 1kg per month which I think is a realistic goal to aim for :-)

Thanks to all of you! Great great tips. I really do plan on losing the weight, but I've noticed when I have more support I begin to lose more. You guys are more than welcome to add me so we can support each other! Thank you again
