Good morning everyone! Just had to say how really thrilled I am to have found you!! WOW!!! Thank you all, for the ton of support that I see going out to so many seekers of their best, best health. The nutritional information available through using MFP is..overwhelming! Can someone please answer a ...silly question? Is coffee, or tea...considered part of the water intake per day? Thank you!!

The nurse (where I used to work) always said that caffeinated drinks didn't count.0

Yes, all drinks and most foods still have water in them. The 8 glasses a day is just a ballpark figure and includes all sources of water from drinks and food etc.
Don't worry about drinking 8 glasses a day as long as you aren't dehydrated basically.0 -
Best guide to fluid intake is the colour of your urine (barring vitamin supplements). If its dark yellow you need more fluid (or water), if its very pale or clear you can reduce fluid intake. Pale yellow is a good indicator of just right.0

How old-school was that nurse? Go into a hospital or nursing home where someone's fluid intake needs to be restricted and they count EVERYTHING, including jello and ice cream. Coffee, tea, milk, soda, it all counts.0 -

You should log the coffee as food since it has calories (albeit minimal if you drink it black). We get water from fruits, vegetables, beverages, etc... .
Rather than a number of glasses, or a number of ounces - let thirst be your guide.0
