So i weighed in at my heaviest at 350lbs! Then 6 years ago i had the gastric bypass and i lost 130 pounds....then a few yeas later....after a failed marriage, being heartbroken, then staring a new relationship, having my first child, and starting a new life... I've gained half the weight back. I have a short term goal to lose 61 lbs to get down to where i was...but i want to lose an additional 30 lbs...so thats 91 lbs total that i want to lose! It seems like a mission impossible...but i dont want to just throw in the towel and give up. I want a healthier me and my daughter deserves a healthy mom. So...here i am again....trying to lose weight, hoping and praying i stick with it. I want to be a healthier me...for the 2nd time.

Don't look at it as 91 lbs total. Break it up into smaller goals - it makes the task seem not quite so daunting. When I was losing, I had lots of goals. My ultimate goal weight was 140 lbs, but I started at more than 200 lbs. So my first goal was 190. Once i got to 190, I made another 10 pound goal, all the way down to 140. Once I hit 140, I realized I wasn't quite done, so kept losing until I hit 125. It took me a while, but the smaller goals made me feel like I was successful more often, and I wasn't focusing on howlong it took to get down to my ultimate goal. Breaking it up made things easier on me.

And take it one day at a time. Sometimes that's all you can do.

JustSomeEm thats awesome that you hit your goal! I like your thinking of hitting baby goals instead of looking at the big picture! 10 lbs does make me feel happier instead of looking at the big picture of trying to lose 91 lbs. Thank you for your advice!

I am do sorry for your battle. Food addiction can and does destroy and takes lives. I have 30 to lose and I realize that if I relinquish control to my cravings and addiction to food that I could easily gain ,100 pounds. Believe in yourself. Love yourself. You can win the seemingly hopeless challenge. The key is within you.

Remember it is so much more than sticking with it you have to deal effectively with the other issues that are causing you to turn to food
