First day....

Today I start off by cleaning out my cupboards and fridge. Hubby is going to take my measurements so I can start my log, I have 80lbs to lose. And my grocery list is made. Any tips for a newbie?

take it one day at a time, break it into small steps of 10 pounds so it's not overwhelming.
& remember to forgive yourself if you go off track :)
Weigh everything & track as honest as you can

Best advice is to initially stay away from bars or restaurants or nights out - they can come back in once you've got some momentum going - the temptation initially can be too much - luckily most people are trying to cut out food and/or alcohol this time of year so hopefully that will help.

Also whatever you do, don't forget to treat yourself - the odd food treat is OK - it's all about balance - but try and treat yourself to something every day - it doesn't have to be food - it might be getting your nails done, or going for a sauna - anything that makes you feel happy! When we're happy and not bored it's amazing how food doesn't cross our mind!

Finally, if you do fall off the wagon, don't beat yourself up over it, you're not trying to live like a monk/nun, we're all human. Just get straight back on and re-focus - the path is never straight, there will be ups and downs and side to side - but remember the destination.

No luck needed - just want it! But good luck anyway

Want the cold, hard truth of what will happen if you put in the effort, logging accurately and honestly?

-You'll spend a lot of money buying clothes in smaller sizes only to become too small for them before wearing them only a few times.
-You'll keep moving your belt to the next notch, only to run out of notches.
-You'll become narcissistic, checking yourself out in anything with a reflection (especially if it offers a full-body view).
-You'll wake up in the morning to your hands rubbing your shrinking belly and newly protruding bones.
-You'll feel sore after workouts, but want to keep pushing yourself to do more.
-You'll have sagging skin, sagging breasts, sagging butt. So you'll have to buy a good bra and do a bunch of squats.
-You'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner, because it really wasn't so hard.

What she said! Enjoy the sushi! Remember, don't kill yourself - life is for living - all about balance!
