Hey everyone! My name is Mike and I am 34. I have struggled with my weight for many years, now I actually have someone, something to better myself and want to be healthier. I have always been so self conscience about my weight and size. Being that self conscience made me mildly depressed, VERY shy and insecure. I have finally found my first true love and ALOT of that has gone away. My weight also limited me with doing alot of physical activities and I truely believe that it had ALOT to do with, my now permanent back problems. My BEAUTIFUL fiance' was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and it really scared me! Diabetes is a big thing in my family and Emily is only 30 years old...4 years younger than me. I AM making alot of changes with my life now..I have cut out 80% of my soda intake and I am just, all around, eating and living better. I am drinking ALOT of water. I feel so much healthier and just better as a whole. I am looking forward to this journey with myself and my fiancee' . I am glad this site is here to help me do better. Everyone have a great night!

Welcome - and good luck to you both ..... as a little bit of a motivation - 9 months ago I was where you are now .... prediabetic, horribly high blood pressure, on cholesterol meds - just plain unfit and unhealthy.......

Saw my doctor yesterday - my insulin levels are normal , BP 100/70, I have officially stopped taking my cholesterol meds yesterday - and my energy levels are just incredible (oh - and as a bonus I have dropped SIX pant sizes!!)
