I am new to this site. I used another program to track my diet last year, but it is no longer supported. I lost 40 lbs. last Spring, but over the Fall, and holidays, I put about 18 back on. I am looking to lose 35 lbs this year. I walk about 2 miles 3days a week and 3 miles on Saturdays. I lift weights twice a week, Spin Class once a week and a Body Pump Class once a week. I want to start doing some outdoor cycling this Spring, maybe Saturday afternoons. But I like to eat foods that are bad for me. And thus the need for a food tracking program. Also last year, I used Facebook to post my weight loss each week for accountability with my friends who were very supportive.

I am new to the site. Lost about 50 lbs 3 years ago and have gained 40 back. Would like to get back on track with a healthy life style. Walking was my exercise of choice, but have recent foot problems, so can't walk long distances. I am open to suggestions for exercise.0

Cycling is always a good choice when you can no longer walk due to foot or leg problems. It is low impact, unless you wreck, then it is high impact. Weight, or strength training is also good. Building muscles can help to increase metabolic rate, and helps to maintain activity as we grow older.0

LipGloss, If you are depending on friends, they will fail you. You need to find your motivation. Once you are getting in the gym regularly, you will meet others who are like minded to workout with. You might want to get into some kind of class. I just got back from a Body Pump Class. I have been doing that for over 2 years. I also do a spin class once a week. And I do strength training twice a week. I have made some friend in all these places, In the weight room, I may not train with anyone, but will talk with others in there. And, most of the people who intimidate other from the weight room, will be more than happy to help you train better, either giving suggestions what to do, or spotting you if you need it. Do not be intimidated by them.0

You have the right idea but don't make it complicated. You are making the right choice! There are so many supportive members here that will encourage you with positive reinforcement daily!. Log every BLT(bite, lick and taste) that goes in your mouth and walk. The weight will come off. Even better if you can do a little more exercise. Variety and volume as far as food goes helps and keeping your protein level up! Good Luck!0
