Anyone have suggestions for starting to make small changes and keep them. Have tried over and over always take on to much and go back to bad habits.

I started with not drinking soda/alcohol and then made small switches. Two of my snacks had to be fruit, changing my creamer to milk in my coffee, whole wheat or multi-grain bread instead of white. Turkey breakfast products instead of the other stuff.

Sounds like a good way to start. Thanks

Also, don't do everything at once. Even small changes all done at the same time can seem overwhelming and cause you slip back into what you are comfortable with. Make the changes gradually over a period of time. Cut out alcohol one day... then a couple days later cut out soda... then a day or two later change to whole wheat/multi-grain... etc. This way, it doesn't seem like so much happening at once.

I'm no expert, but I think to stay on track and not get distracted it's all about the "WHY"!
If the why isn't big enough we will get sidetracked for sure.

My why is trying to stay healthy to both be around to support family as long as I can and enjoy watching my grandchildren grow.

Yes, looking nice and healthy is also good, but maybe not motivating enough unless your looking for that special friend at the local bar.
