I know this is a big part of weight loss or any other challenge life throws at you - to take it one day at a time.
When I think of this concept, it drives me crazy! I get so impatient and I can't believe I have to just wait it out.
How do you take it one day at a time?

By knowing where you want to be. Think of it as a 5-year plan. I've got friends who "can't have a 5 year plan, they don't know what they're doing tomorrow" but I look at that from the other side. If I know where I want to be in 5 years I know that what I do today, tomorrow etc for the 5 years has to get me towards where I want to be, otherwise I'm wasting time and energy.
I didn't gain this weight in one day one month or even one year, it's not going to disappear overnight either.0 -

Great advice!!! I am also impatient however I did not turn into this mess over night!!! ihave a 1 year plan right now.. my son starts kindergarten.0 -

You also have to keep in mind that you didn't gain this weight in a day, a week, or even a month so there's no way you'll lose it in that time frame. It took a long time to put the weight on, it will take time to take it off.
When I think of today, I don't think in terms of my long range goals, I think "what do I have to do today that will help me reach those goals?" Then I make my plan based on that. Each day that I make it through and I stick to my plan is one step closer to my goal.
Also, set little mini goals to reach along the way. I have a lot to lose to I'm setting smaller "stepping stone" goals to help me not be so overwhelmed with the bigger numbers.0 -
That's all you can do. It sucks, but it takes time and hard work. Took me 28 years to get to 260. Now I'm down to 220, 6 Months later. Hopefully another 40 pounds in 6 months lol!0
