Hemorrhoids and weight loss

Believe me this is humbling. But here goes. I haven't had a hemorrhoid flare up for years. Now suddenly I have several excruciatingly painful ones after losing 40 lbs since July. What's going on? I thought losing weight was supposed to HELP hemorrhoids. I used some slim fast. Does that have anything to do with it? I only used it for 2 months maybe and only according to the slim fast diet plan. Ugh. I have not had any constipation... These h's just showed up out of nowhere. Not even sure what I'm looking for with this post. Company? I dunno, but the issue is embarrassing and its affecting my daily life.

Never had hemorrhoids but that really sounds like a drag! Maybe you should talk to your dr?1

I'm getting close to desperate enough to talk to my doc! But not quite.... I keep hoping they'll decide to leave on their own, but after 2 months of off and on misery I'm not sure that's gonna happen.0

Did you add a weight lifting routine recently?0

No, the only exercise I've been doing is walking a mile or 2 every day.0

Get a Squatty Potty. It's a plastic stool that wraps around your toilet. When you sir down it raises your legs to a position that makes elimination much easier. I got mine from Amazon for $28.
The commercial is a unicorn that poops rainbow swirl ice cream and the reviews are hilarious but it really has helped me.1 -
I've had 3 kids and carried them all really low creating some discomfort.... Mine didn't bother me for a while either but now seem to make a monthly appearance around my 'time'. At first I thought it was related to my IBS or lifting too much or something but apparently it's the pressure of my oh so wonderful uterus. My doctor said it's unfortunate but normal for internal swelling to cause pressure down there, as well as even eating inflammatory foods to cause a temporary flare up.
I hope you find relief soon, I would go speak with your doctor if they are that painful and irritating, better safe than sorry.0 -
I just had mine removed, it was easier than I anticipated. Look into CRH O'Regan System banding. It was 3 visits, less than 5 min each and very little to no discomfort. Now I may be the exception, but it was no worse than a pap smear.

Add more fiber to your diet. Drink more water. Breathe in and out when pooping. And breathe when working out. Always breathe Danielson.2

I have to dilute the slim fast1/2 +1/2 with lactase removed milk or I really have trouble with increased bowel movements-so of course my hemorrhoids flared up even with diluting the product. I obtained hemorrhoid suppositories with hydrocortisone in them, and used disposable hemorrhoids pads and calmed it all down after skipping the slim fast 3 days. So I think there is a correlation with the product but maybe any liquid weight loss product will cause this trouble for those of us who have hemorrhoids from having childbirth. I will continue to go slowly with the weight loss products but will continue because it is working. Worst case is having to do as the lady said above and go have them removed.0

I had/have hemoroids.
They have not been a problem since I installed electronic bidets on ALL of my toilets.
No more abrasive wiping helped a lot. Eating more fiber never did; just made me "go" and wipe more. Lost weight during the same time period but don't think it made a difference.
The bidets plus the installation of electric outlets was expensive but was well worth the cost to me.1
