Emotional eating. Do you want to start eating healthy... but for some reason you just can't stick with it? If you are a binge eater or eat for comfort, go ahead add me as a friend.

I am here on MFP as both a way to lose weight and to eventually change the relationship I have with food. I know I am not alone. MFP for me is a place where I can be honest about my food habits and stop the shame and beating myself up for making the same mistake, again and again. I don't have an eating disorder. I'm 145 pounds and 5'3. My life doesn't revolve around food. I've never binged or purged. But, sometimes, like so many other Americans... I reach for cookies and ice cream when I am stressed! I'm usually just a little bit overweight. And addressing the emotional side of my eating would go a long ways towards maintaining a healthy weight for me.

For me, after a binge, my self-esteem gets really bizarre. And counting calories and eating healthy just seems harder than before. I've been in a rut lately. So, this is a one week challenge. Count your calories. Eat as healthy and as reasonably as you can.

My goal: Eat 1200-1700 calories per day and count everything.

This is a short term challenge for anyone who is struggling and to get back in the swing of things.

I am with you girlfriend!!! I am 5'4" and have gotten myself down (on here) from 161 to now, 136. I find myself either reaching for twizzlers or cookies, brownies or ice cream in times of stress or depression and have been working my *kitten* off to curb that! I LOVE this application on my phone- it really allows me to be super accountable for what I put in my body. I have been able to keep to 1210 for the past 60 days or so and will continue....for sure. Doing a quick weekly challenge will certainly give me a little more incentive...and with my school year ending and my routine going up in smoke, this is very timely!

There is no way I could cut sweets completely form my diet so here are some suggestions that are healthier. Slim-A-Bear Klondike Bars, No Sugar Added Blue Bunny Bunny Tracks Ice Cream both are lower in sugar contant and kinda low carbs count. If you need something crunchy Pretzel M&M's are goos but have alot of sugar so only if you really need something sweet and crunchy not to cheat. Also, there are sugar free Resse's that are great. I haven't found any good sugar fee cookies yet.

I hope this helps you not cheat, these are really great alternatives and I simply couldn't diet without them!

moderation is key! I ate clean for 30 days... and liked it... but in the end couldn't seem to cut out junk food 100%. I'm at 1100 calories so far today eggs + sandwhich + granola bar + cookie. For dinner, I'm going to find something low calorie, SATISFYING, and decently healthy.
