Unless you are allergic or sensitive to some of the ingredients in Diet Coke, there is no reason not to drink it. If you like it, drink it.0

No such thing as sugar addiction unless you're snorting it from the kitchen counter.
Seriously, a lot of MFPers delete their sugar data since it's not worth worrying about unless you have a medically diagnosed condition. I just ignore my sugar stats, and I'm disgustingly healthy.
And what the wise @elphie754 said about Diet Coke.0 -
FRUIT!!! The ultimate sugar fix, just eat some strawberries oe blueberries or something and voila sugar craving gone!0

As others above have pointed out, sugar itself is not addictive, however, many people find sugary foods tasty (of course!) and may have difficulty moderating them. The fact that for most people, it is one particular type of food (say cookies) that they crave and tend to lose control around, and not literally every single substance that contains sugar in any chemical form (which would include table sugar, honey, fruit, dairy, etc) that gets them twitchy is one of the reasons I like remind people that maybe it's not sugar that is the problem but just how you view those foods and why you feel you have difficulty controlling yourself around them.
With that said, sweets and foods with a lot of added sugar may add a lot of calories to your day, and so in order to achieve your weight loss goals you may consider reducing your consumption of those type of foods. Some people focus on the foods they find triggering and cut those out, either temporarily or permanently, until they learn to better moderate them. Some people find that when cutting out all sugars (which they probably mean added sugars, or sweets, or just a certain food) they feel too restricted and they end up binging, so they leave room for small amounts of these type of foods.
I have something sweet pretty much every day, even if just a square of dark chocolate. And Diet Coke? Been drinking it for 25 years and no plans to give it up!0
