I was doing the treadmill until I started Zumba last week(SUPER ADDICTED):love:  since that is an hour of cardio and it burns WAY more calories for me than the treadmill does, I decided for now I am not doing the treadmill, I still do the bike, it really gets my heart rate up. So what about you Zumba lovers, have you ditched the treadmill for now or do you do both?

I haven't gotten on a treadmill or any other such device since I started Zumba! I do Zumba or other cardio workouts like Insanity or Turbo Fire.

I do Zumba several times a week and go for nice long walks outside (at night - I live in Tucson, AZ and it is HOT during the day) on other days. I also occasionally throw in something different as it is good to keep your body guessing.

I started with Golds gym dance then zumba.. I'll do walking for a leg workout once in a while to tone but no treadmill anymore. I alternate zumba, strength training, and freestlye swimming with summer coming.

I've ditched all cardio except for Zumba. I do at least 1 hour of Zumba 6 days a week, plus some light weight and resistance training 4 - 5 days a week. That's enough to keep me losing and healthy. When I have time adn the weather is nice I also like to hike because I love to be in the woods, but I sometimes do Zumba on those days too. It just depends on how long the hike was.

I warm up on the treadmill for 10 mins before strength training. Or sometimes do intervals for about 15-20 mins on the treadmill. That is it though. No 30-60 mins cardio on any machines for me!!

Alright then, good to hear, I figured for most people Zumba does way more than the treadmill.

Zumba is my indoor cardio of choice. Walking & swimming are outdoor. Treadmill at work on REALLY hot days if I know I won't have time at home in the evening. But Zumba is my favorite! Bollywood is a close 2nd...not as intense, but I still get a good workout.

This may be a strange question but I'm curious if Zumba would be a neighbor friendly thing for me to try. I live in a second floor appartment and don't want to be that annoying person upstairs that makes too much noise. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Well I do mine at a gym, there is a lot of moving around and some jumping on Zumba, but you could always be soft about it, maybe try it and if you speak to them ask them if it was to much of a bother.

I have the newer dvds and they don't have too much jumping around compared to the class I take. It has a lot of belly dancing and salsa moves and stuff like that. I don't make much noise in my house and I have wood floors.

To answer the OP's question, I never have liked the treadmill so have always tried staying away from it, but I do go on the elliptical quite a bit at the Y because it is no impact and I have leg pain if I walk too much. It is somehow linked to all my vitamin deficiencies.
