Hi all at the first of the year I started using myfitnesspal to track food. August '13 I was 310+ pounds. My knees hurt I snore was getting sick a lot. I was prediabetic and heading to being diabetic. I had to do something. The doctor recommended a diet. Leaving the clinic I saw a man weighting 50-100 lbs. heavier than me on one of those electric carts with 64 once soda cup. His were bandaged feet. I did not want that. I decided I did not want to LIVE TO DIE. So I bought an mtb bike and started to ride daily around the neighborhood I felt like garbage at first. Within the month I was feeling better. I then bought a used road bike. After a year I go a new one. In 2015 I logged 4577 miles. This year I am aiming for 5500 miles. My weight goal is 170. I am 73.6 lbs. away. The nutritionist at the clinic I do a bmi test recommended this to track my food and exercise. Part of her reason is on days I have a long ride I under eat she found. So I have been using this site. I use the calorie burn for the exercises from strava I use to track my rides as I think it is more accurate with lower calorie est. This seems to be working as I am off the plateau I have been on the last 4 months. Nice. Tracking food is freeing in a way. I have a clearer picture of what to plan for food. Thanks. I now have another tool to meet my goal.
