Suggestions needed on vegetarian and vegan sources of protein?

    I rely on dairy all day.. Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and a protein shake made with milk and whey protein are probably the most protein-dense foods I eat.

    Orgain brand vegan protein powder is my favourite supplement. Otherwise, beans, lentils, legumes, pasta, cheeses, soy, mycoprotein (meatless meat substitutions), and quinoa are all powerful.

    beans and rice are a complete protein! And there's a lot of variety you can do with them. I just made a big batch of cuban style black beans and they are delicious. And of course, soy is a complete protein on its own.

    Also nuts and nut butters are fantastic sources but have higher fat content, especially "good" fats.

    Pretty much what everyone has said. Tofu, cheese, yogurt, lentils, eggs, beans, quinoa are all vegetarian protein sources that I eat. There's also seitan but that has never seemed appealing to me.
  • truenutrition com has some great vegan protein powder options cheaper and tast better than most stores. stay away from textured vegetable protein.

    I'm vegetarian. I like to get my protein from food. Most food has protein so I don't worry about it. I also don't eat much dairy because it's not good for you. I see a lot of vegetarian diaries on here with like half their calories from dairy.
