The Dukan Diet - Who's tried it?

I was looking into the Dukan Diet, and I was just wondering who's tried it and if it worked for you. I've been eating Primal/Paleo for a while (aside from treating myself to some of my mom's amazing cooking while I'm home for the summer once in a while), so I know I can do the lower carb, higher protein deal and be fine - even if that means giving up having a piece of my mom's lasagna that I treat myself to every week. Just with eating Paleo, my body is surprisingly not changing the way I was hoping it would, so I figured I might as well give something else a try. But I wanted to see how others felt about it before I commit myself to such a process.

Thanks! :]

I've heard good things about it... but there is a concern about high cholesterol! This topic was actually on Dr. Oz recently. Me personally... I can only last on high protein for a couple of days.. but I show quick results in that short amount of time. I like to use a diet like that as a "jump start".. then I move on to counting calories. =)

I have just did the attack phase for 3 days in May to break my 6-week plateau and it did! I was excited. I usually don't restrict my diet ever but just counting calories and exercise doesn't cut it when you are down to your last 8-13 lbs (which is me). I am re-doing the attack phase (this time just for 2 days - today is day 2 and doing this w/ my sister and her husband), then I may move into the 2nd phase seriously this time.

I have drop a lot of weight in the beginning on the attack phase, it has tapered a good bit. I am losing about 2 pounds a week now. I feel great and it is working better than counting calories did for me. I have a big problem with carbs when I eat them I crave more and more obsessively. The website says I will be at my goal weight in August, but weekends I don't stick to the diet and I know it will take longer to get there. It is a very rigid diet, you really are suppose to stick to it all the time with no mess ups. But, with a family and busy weekends, it is hard.

I've tried this too, but it was not good for me. Its hard to live this way when you have a child and a husband. You alwas have to cook two different meals...
I also think it is not really healthy, when you live like this for a longer time. You might get hairloss, broken nails...

My husband and I are starting this Saturday! We got the book and did a lot of research on it over the last month. We are so excited! We started a blog called Thinner is Served to track everything and so we can share with everyone whether it works or not!
