Decided to Log My Food Today & It's Awesome!

So after figuring out a Soup Diet is stupid and to continue with my healthy eating by eating like the way I was before (which was logging 1500 calories a day), I've decided to log today's "normal eating" day and I am impressed!

All meals and snacks logged and weighed and I have 400 calories to spare for bed time snack. Which will actually prob only be a bowl of greek yogurt and berries. (150 calories.) The day will total only 1250 cals but with that will give me 250 of leeway incase I miss weighed or grabbed a handful of full before I thought about what I was doing lol.

I am hoping this bout of weight loss will in fact be FAT loss. I weight lift at home focusing on compound lifts with abs 1-2 times a week and then upper body 1 time. Plus cardio during breaks at work - walking or jogging and the odd elliptical workout at home. I also consider cardio when I sled and skate with my son.

I would hope that this type of eating and working out will indeed blast at least 5lbs of pure fat from my body! Once that's done then will see if I wanna do another 5lbs!

    Remember to properly fuel yourself for those workouts by eating at least 50% of those burned calories back.

    Glad you ditched the soup diet and found logging your normal foods to work well for you.

    Lol, didn't last very long for me! Im sure there's people out there that did it for 7 days though!

    MFP is set up for you to eat those calories back, though.

    I second @Ninkyou's recommendation to log the workout and eat back half the calories. Fueling the workouts means you'll be able to keep doing them and see improvement :)

    You will no doubt find that you have to eat back at least some of the calories. If you do not, your workouts will become harder, you will be tired, and you will be starving (possibly leading to overeating).

    The best thing to do is try it and see what happens. If you lose about a pound a week you are doing it right. If you lose more or less, then you need to adjust your daily intake. As you make changes, give them time to work (at least 2 weeks).

    Also want to mention mfp does really calculate exercise burn that well from what ive read on here... and ya i will listen to my body if more food is needed.
