What is a recent NSV compliment you've received, or one that you'd like to hear?

I'd love to walk by some women and overhear one of them say, "I wish I had a body like hers!"

My ex husband told me I now have chicken legs. I think it was a compliment!

This morning in the elevator a co-worker asked me how much weight I'd lost and said she could really tell it!

A couple co-workers had told me it was obvious I had been losing weight and that I looked amazing. Also, a good guy friend of mine referred to me as "skinny" and told me I had a banging body. It's always a boost in confidence!

Last November when I joined the gym at work I had a fitness evaluation (blood pressure, hear rate, etc...). The personal trainer took a picture of me then.

I went in a few weeks ago for another fitness evaluation and when she pulled out my file she said, "well, I can definitely tell you've lost weight/been working out because you don't look anything like your picture!"

Not exactly a compliment, but.....last night I was watering the front lawn. A young couple was walking down the street. They caught my eye when they were about 2 houses down. They had stopped to kiss. Teenage love. Holding hands. As they walked past my house the girl looked up, caught my eye and smiled. I think it was the embarassed afterglow warmth of the kiss she just experienced. BF didn't see her smile. I smiled back. He caught that. He was quietly trying to ask her what that was all about as they walked away.

Not really a compliment, but felt good that the young gun thought the old fart had even caught his girl's eye.

I am pretty sure you are not suffering from a deficiency in compliments.

Most of my friends know me from my nickname "Downtime". (It stems from my side business) but anyway, now they have begun to call me "Halftime" because of the weight I have lost. I act like it bothers me, but really I couldn't be happier that they notice!!
  • I had a friend recently tell me that my husband was a lucky man because I had such nice legs.

A younger lady in the building where I work, I don't even know her...passed by me yesterday and said " Lookin good Mama!" While I am not a Mama. I still looked at her and said "Thanks so much!" I am not one to believe it when people compliment me. I still feel big - Even thought I am not (as big). Boy do I have a rough road ahead of me.

I just have to learn to say Thank you, Smile and change the conversation.
