" I always had a repulsive need to be something more than human.." <3
    Ugh :/
I still can't even process any of this. He truly was and still is one of the best f****** ones around.

I'm way crushed. He just came out with an album too and even before he died people were saying it was his best work in over 35 years. The portions I had heard were really good.

I got a cold chill when I read the news. I was listening to one of the songs on his new album. Shook me up quite a bit.

Woke up to this , I'm gutted from when i first discovered him at 13 in 73 he has been a huge influence on my life shaping me in my formative years and evolving through the years. So many of my musician and artist friends were guided to art through Bowie. some were lucky enough to have worked with him over the years as artists and musicians. I wish I had the opportunity, but am glad to have just been touched by his genius

These days, 69 isn't that old!
Very sad to hear this. Especially loved his 80s stuff he did with Nile Rodgers.
His Ex wife Angie is in the Celebrity Big Brother house here in the UK. So i'm guessing she'll have to be told!

Such a presence. Always did his own thing, and for many it took them years to understand how good it was. Saw him live once at the '83 US Festival, where he closed the night. Gone too soon, just like the guitarist who was also on the "Let's Dance" CD that happens to be one of my all time favorites.

The guy really did his own thing. I hope he enjoyed his life as much as we enjoyed his talents.

I grew up with his music and have always had a fondness for him as a musician and personality. There were so many good things that he brought to the world including encouraging people to be themselves and express their personality no matter how strange it might look to the rest of the world. Gutted i never got to see him perform.
