Calorie Goals

I know it's important to eat back your exercise calories but what if that means eating way more than your *starting* calorie limit. I'm supposed to be eating 1230 calories a day...it's not that much so exercise allows me to eat more..But a day like today -- I over did it..I was super bad..so I worked out more to compensate...but something tells me it doesn't work that way. I wound up eating about 2000 calories today which is 5 calories over my adjusted calorie goal...Should I am for something like 1500 regardless of my exercise? I feel like 2000 is a lot...

I'm in maintain mode and I always eat back ALL of my exercise calories (and I exercise anywhere from 200-1100 calories per day). I haven't had any problems with gaining so I would say no it isn't a problem. (In fact, sometimes, I will jog around the house to burn off the extra 100 calories I ate ) The most important thing is to make sure your net calories don't go below 1200.

If it is just one day, I would not let it worry you. Just try to stay at or below the adjusted calorie goal.
