Smart Watch for fitness considerations

Need some advice/input:
I was looking into the new Garmin Vivoactive smart watch. I see it has pretty much all the features and functions I was looking for from a fitness perspective, as well as, all the texting/emails and all that other fun stuff.
Can anyone tell me and/or confirm if Myfitnesspal app is compatible with this device, where it can sync my workouts/heartbeats/steps, runs, I initiate throughout the day, etc., directly into myfitnesspal app, simplifying my maintenance updates.
Please advise on any thoughts to this....Thanks in advance.

The Vivoactive is compatible with Myfitnesspal, through the Garmin Connect, just like most of Garmin's fitness devices. As far as texting/emails, you still need the smartphone to do that, the Vivoactive gives you notification of any texts/emails or events in your calendar, but you can't send on it.
I really love my Vivoactive, which I upgraded from the Vivosmart in November. It's not as good of a smartwatch as true smartwatches (like Apple Watch, Samsung Gear, Pepple, etc), but on the same token, those watches are not as good on the fitness side of things like the Vivoactive is.
It all depends what your needs/wants are. If the fitness side of it is more important to you, then Vivoactive gives you that with better accuracy and built in GPS (in addition to sleep monitoring/workouts/heart rate/steps/calorie burned estimates, etc), but if the smartwatch functions are more important, than a true smartwatch (more features, and capability to send on it, or browsing the internet, etc) may be what you are after.0 -
Fantastic. Thank you so much for this information. Extremely helpful in my decision. Definitely going for the Garmin for sure. I need a device more for fitness purposes and integrates to my workouts and meal structure - very important. Beside, I'm already connected to business enough, and how can anyone browse from a small watch - Like really (maybe some do). I want to enjoy my workouts, and a text or email notification on the Garmin is good enough for me.
Thanks again.0 -
Polar Loop w/Heart Rate Monitor for accurate hear rate, calories burned, activity level, daily steps, and sitting too long alert. Works with free Polar Flow app which gives even more information: sleep information, how long exercised in each zone (Fit, Fat, etc.), heart rate ranges, etc.
