Getting bored

It is to cold to walk or run outside and all I have is an elliptical. I have tried doing it for 45 minutes at a easier pace then going for 25 minutes at a faster pace the next day. And alternating between forward and backwards. However I'm getting bored with it. What can I do to stay interested?

Try making it more challenging. Try to beat your time. Or cycle your pace--I.e., fast as you can for 30 seconds then slow for 60...

Or mix in 10-15 minutes of lunges, squats, push-ups, pull-ups...

I have developed good balance and do some stretching work as I warm down on the elliptical--reaches-ladder/backward/side, arm circles, punches...

Try googling some elliptical routines. Or go to YT for Fitness Blender and Pop Sugar bodyweight routines.

there's so much more you can do! be creative! do 5 mins elliptical, hop off and do a quick circuit to get your heart rate up (for example 15 squat jumps, 10 pushups, 20 mountain climbers) then jump back on the elliptical for another 5 mins then do the circuit again! or you can even shake it up and do something else! with exercise you have to enjoy it, otherwise you're not going to get results. look forward to working out and find something you love doing, getting fit is exciting! so go and have fun!
