Stress eating!!!

I normally eat really healthy - HOWEVER- My diet always falls apart when I get anxious or mega stressed. I logged my food today and realized my entire 24 hour food intake consisted of coffee, wine, cookies, pizza, and a few Doritos. Any recovering stress eaters out there? Does anyone have suggestions for alternative stress relieving habits that don't involve food? PS- I do exercise regularly and it doesn't help with this issue.

I know it's easier said than done but the trick for me was working on all of my emotional ties with the kitchen. I absolutely internalized the fact that kitchen is the feeding grounds for physiological nutrition. I no longer seek any comfort or positive emotions in there. And this alone helped me immensely in reaching my goals. There are other areas in life worth exploring for happiness and comfort, hobbies, art, being productive etc. This approach might not be for everyone but that's just my two cents.

When you are stressed try going out for a walk, or do some exercise, stretches or yoga. If you can't do any of those try drinking some herbal tea, my favourite ones are mint and chamomile.

Food used to be my go to relief for stress but now it's walking. Heaphones in, music up and a nice walk around the park or along the beach and I am calm again.

Beautiful. I second that and yoga too. I'm an anxious/stressed person in general and I've had to find other ways to calm it down instead of eating. If I'm too tired to exercise, I watch something that will make me laugh, color, write something, draw, etc..

Get a massage every now and then or get in a hot tub! Sometimes, I think putting devices away and really enjoying the quiet is nice. I am an easily stressed out person too.

Do everything you can to reduce stress. Get more restful sleep. Go to bed earlier.
Find new ways to deal with stress. Study Tai Chi or Yoga.
Go to youtube to look at breathing techniques.
