I would like to know as well.

I dont think so with the amount of times the app crashes.0
-
That's a good point. So far I can't get my fitbit tracker to relay my steps to MFP app. It's very frustrating.0
-
If honestly... I have premium and see no changes, only adds are gone..0
-
this app/site is barely worth free...i'd never pay for this mess. it's always been a little buggy, but it's way worse than it was a few years ago...0
-
Can you track fiber in the premium0
-
I would say no, because the site is very buggy and the MFP database is a wasteland of incorrect entires. Also, you can do pretty much everything on the free version that you can on the paid on. As @cwolfman13 mentioned this site is barely worth it for free….
@RobertHolland567 you can track fiber on the free version. you just need to update your view under "custom settings"0 -
I wouldn't bother if I could do it again. It is useful in terms of if you want to set your macros and calories at a specific amount and you don't want exercise to bother it, but really you could just know what those goals are in your head without this aid :P0
-
Why I'm premium:
1. Better support for TDEE methods (won't add exercise calories back)
2. Different goals for different days of the week
3. Because any tool that helps me lose weight as effectively as MFP deserves some money for their efforts.
The app and website are so-so, but you can't argue with results.0 -
Yes, you can track fiber in premium.0

rankinsect: thanks, that's me: Different goals for different days of the week and because any tool that helps me lose weight as effectively as MFP deserves some money for their efforts.
Nothing in life is FREE. Somebody have to pay for the workers and to keep the site running, so its either purchase Premium and be advert FREE or get the FREE service and put up with the advertising - it does not take a GED to figure it out.0 -

this site makes money off of their advertising...they just want to make more money by hooking people into believing that they somehow get additional benefits for a pay version, which IMO you do not.0 -
For most people starting out you don't need any of the features offered in Premium. For people with more advanced methods of dieting (calorie cycling, carb cycling, refeeds, TDEE method) using Premium can be helpful, but there are work arounds in the free version.0

You can track fibre for free as well0 -
Without the Premium, it tells me how many protein, sugar and carbs etc that I should maintain. Would those numbers be more accurate or change if we did have the premium?0

With Premium, you can set your Macronutrients by gram; which is more precise than percentage & that's why, I have it.0 -
That's a good question go glad to hear other ideas about it0

I know but I can't set it by grams, without Premium; just percentages & only by increments of 5.0 -
I'm a firm believer that one shouldn't have to spend any money to be healthy (except on good food of course). Giving money is just an excuse to stop... its the rationale "oh it cost too much, so I'm gonna stop". I'm sure it works for some people, but I really don't see the point0

you can track fiber unpaid.....
ask me how!!!0 -

Loads faster with out the adds.0

It motivated me to keep using it. Plus it really is a good tool I wanted to thank the developers. But, if none of that matters to you probably not0

As I understand it, the premium fee overlaps with the other MapMy'something' apps. So if you have premium on MapMyWorkout then you also have premium in MFP (95% sure that's the case).
I haven't used the other apps very much as they really should all be one thing, but I believe there is some extra coaching and better tracking options when you're a paid user. I'll be more inclined to pay when I don't have to shuffle apps, but I think that's their long term goal anyhow...0 -

do you know any others?0 -
I think (not sure) you can set your macros individually by grams, instead of getting a pre-set amount of calories by MFP without being able to modify the grams of macros you want...(we can modify the % of macros, until we find the grams we want but even like that it's inaccurate) and I think you can also vary the amounts each day, according to your training schedule i.e. more carbs on leg training day.0
-
If I was so inclined to need to add grams of quick calorie carbs, protein etc.. then I must be too lazy to look up the real thing, add my own entry or not being honest enough to log it properly...
I have thought I needed it a couple of times during my strength training to keep up with certain things, but in reality it had all I really need, along with honest logging and just some time to do it.
I might (I am saying lightly) do it if my diet warranted something it has in premium based on a doctor's recommendation, but in reality unless it can do blood work, check my glucose or something like that... nahhhhh...0
