If your allowance is 1200 and was calculated by MFP, and you burn 600 through exercise (which MFP doesn't consider when setting goals) then you should eat 1800 total.

That said, that only works if your calculations and numbers are accurate. 600 calorie exercise burns, while not unheard of, would be a pretty long, intense workout for most people.

i generally start at eating half my exercise calories. and evaluate the speed of weight loss from there. in general, exercise calories overestimated.

Yes, you are supposed to end your day at the net goal.

Many live by eating back 50-75% of their exercise calories to account for intake inaccuracies, and over estimation of exercise calories. You're goal is already at the net bottom, you don't really want to go any lower.

Ok thanks. I had a 65 minute kickboxing and strength training dvd today and used my polar watch to monitor calories so it should be fairly accurate.

Be careful with that! Last night it gave me 600 calorie credit!! I do work out hard, cardio 30 min and weight training for an hour - however no way in heck am I going to eat 600 more calories! I typically loose 2.5 - 3 lbs a week - 1200 calories a day and hitting the gym every other day - I also have a cheat day on Fridays. Maybe that's why I can pull off the cheat day?? But it works for me!

Hh353, you have a polar? I'm think I'll just eat back 300 and see how that goes.
