I have always been hyper, and loved playing football, baseball, soccer...etc. Went to college/work = MMA and Powerlifting was my thing, mixed with Drag racing my firebird.

Then I had a kid at 24, had to make more money, so MMA and lifting was replaced with more work and school. I now am in a place to retire extremely early (looks like 38yr old), but I am way overweight, obese. I don't want to be a fat, young, retirey.

I have returned to my old MMA trainer, who now trains Crossfit. I am Intermittent fasting approx 17hours a day.

  • Sounds unsustainable, but hope it works for you.

Not sure what you think is unsustainable unless you mean the IF for 17 hours. But I've been sustaining it for a few weeks. Good luck to you, sounds like you have a great mindset.

Thanks, clobern80, I used to do IF way before it started getting that intermittent fasting name... my trainer back then just said "Only eat when you are hungry." That resonated with me and I ended up really only eating once a day in the evening a few hours before bed.

Now I have a name for it IF or Intermittent fasting...lol

Thanks again clobern80, I am on day 10 today, down 8lbs from start

I am the same way. I was eating just because... when I was trying to lose weight in the past, I was eating "because I had to"... and now I am only eating when I am hungry. That happens to be generally between 6PM-9PM for me. And I feel great the rest of the day!

Congrats on your 8lbs. It is exciting when you start really getting into it.
