Gym Genius - Ideas

So I was at the gym yesterday, and there was a very fit woman who went to the lying leg curl machine - that one where you lie on your stomach and lift the weight up to your butt with your ankles. But, rather than that, she used it to do weighted glute bridges. She rested her shoulders on the one side, and used the very nicely padded bar. This seemed a genius idea to me, since I've seen a lot of other women doing them with regular bars, and some using bunched up workout mats with regular bars.
So, any other genius ideas for the gym? Has anyone tried the one above?

Do you mean the kind of machine below?
I can see how you'd use the bar to provide resistance for the lift part but where do you put your legs? Do you need another bench to put your feet on?

I don't see how it could work. Won't the pads/rollers be moving along the body? I love genius gym ideas but something is wrong here.
My "genius" Glute ham developer idea is hips on foam roller propped on my bench with ankles braced under pads on the Lat pull-down.0 -

That's not her in the pic, just something I found on the net.0
