    Pineapple (fresh pref, about 1 cup); rocket/arugula (big handful);
    Protein powder ( pea protein tastes better than whey in this smoothie);
    Ice cubes and water.

    A frozen banana is the key to a great green smoothie. It adds sweetness and body and makes it not so "green" tasting. I also add in some frozen fruit (I use berry blends and tropical mixes). When you use frozen fruit, you don't need to add ice, but you do need a half to a cup of liquid. I use water, or almond/soy milk or any kind of juice. Whirl away. I do find that these need a longer blending that your average smoothie, especially with kale, to make sure it is well incorporated.
