I need your opinions please...

Here is my latest pic, basing this on where I came from, 90+ lbs ago, I really can't complain ;)

But, going by those silly insurance charts, I'd need to lose at least another 20 lbs. to fit into the "healthy range" for my height.

I personally think I may be a bit too thin at that weight seeing that I'm now adding more tone and muscle to my athletic frame.

I'm 6' 2" and 220 lbs in this picture.

Let me know what you think, I'm my own worst critic:

i would say find out your body fat %.

no insurance company is going to put you in the 'unhealthy/overweight/risk' pool if your body fat % is in line - and it certainly looks like it is. congrats on all your success thus far!

my doctor has given me instructions as to how low I can go - and i'm not allowed to get very far into the 'healthy' BMI range because doc thinks i'll be underweight. I trust my personal doctor over a chart any day.

I say go by how you feel. I have never believed in those charts. I don't think I could EVER fit into their "normal". That chart doesn't account for muscle vs fat, bone structure etc. Check with your doc about the more important health things like blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar etc..... If those are all good then trust how you feel as well as your docs advice.

    Congrats!!

Who knows! They are just guide lines. Great job on the weight lost so far!

My husband is 6'2" and weighs 260 but appears thinner due to all the muscle mass and low body fat % due to the fact that he was a Muay Thai fighter and now he is a Green Beret so fitness is always been a huge deal to him.

    You look great

    Thanks everyone for your input.

I am, or was diabetic, blood sugar is now perfect, had high blood pressure and that is now usually around 120/80 and I'm getting my cholesterol checked again in a few weeks. That was high in the past as well.

I can't say it's been easy, but it sure was worth it, I have so much more energy now it's unbelievable!

I'm so impressed with the work you have done so far. My guess is if you go into maintainence goal and loose the weight, then maybe it was meant to be. If you don't loose weight, and are keeping all your medical items in check, you're fine. To me the most important things are your cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure. The rest is just icing. If it's getting tough to get off the last 20 lbs, then maybe where you are is the weight you are supposed to be. I wouldn't stress over it. I'm healthy at a much higher weight than the insurance charts say. Only YOU and your Dr. know what feels good to you. You have done so good - I'd take it and run with it!!

charts are set way to low. Go by how you feel and look in your clothes and energy!
