Burning calories and eating them

If you burn a heap of calories, and consume more than your recommended amount of calories since you have so much extra that you burnt, will you still lose weight?
E.g. My goal is to consume under 1,400 calories. The other day I burnt 1,356 so upped my intake but stayed well under that. Will I still lose weight if I do this frequently?

As long as you're in a deficit you'll lose weight. Be cautious of our burn estimates though. (They could be over estimated, by the way you calculate them; what calculator you use, what machine gives the readout etc)0

How are you determining your "burns"? And are you referring only to burns from intentional exercise? (Your body burns calories all day long, even while you're sleeping, just to keep you alive, and for most people that actually represents the majority of their daily burn; plus any kind of movement, not just exercise, burns calories, as does digesting your food, fueling your brain, and repairing your muscles on a daily basis even if you're not engaged in strength training.)0

I don't eat my burned calories back very often , I find it gives me a false sense of security, and I wasn't losing a lot of weight. This time round I am losing more, faster . All the best0

I've done it before. Took me all day, but it's definitely doable!

Agreed. I have as well, and it took me hours to do so.0 -
I did a 12 mile run yesterday and burned 1700(training for a marathon), doesn't say how they were burned so why isn't 1300 achievable.0

Assuming that by "burnt calories" you are referring to exercise calories, if you are allotted 1400 calories to lose weight and you burn an additional 1356 calories exercising and only eat 1400, you will have a net of 44 calories for the day, not good. Your goal should be to net 1400 calories.
