Can someone explain why my steps take away my total calories available? I have 119 steps this morning, have not eaten yet and my calories available have gone from 1500 to 1390. Shouldn't it be the other way, as I exercise I get more calories? I'm new to MFP and still trying to learn all the features. I have it synced to my fitbit - and it is wonderful!!

I suggest you join MFP Fitbit group

They have a FAQ that will explain this query and others you may have

MFP assumes a certain amount of movement based on the activity level you select.

It's totally normal to see your calorie allotment go lower in the morning. It just means you haven't moved enough to earn all your calories. You may see a smaller decrease if you set your activity level as Sedentary. As you move more, you'll get closer to the original goal and eventually see a positive adjustment.

The FAQ goes into much more detail on how all this works :)

Thank you for the explanation. I had gone and read some, but it was very confusing. Your explanation makes perfect sense. My level is sedentary, unfortunately, due to a desk job and being a student.
