Ok so I've been reading all of the health benefits of flaxseed. Well dummy me buys whole seeds instead of ground and I have no way to grind it up ( I even put some in a baggie and beat them with a hammer lol). But waste not want not! Does anyone have good recipes that call for using the seed?

Ask a friend if you can use his/her coffee grinder. That's what I use. I grind up the whole bag at once and then keep it in the freezer in a tupperware container. I eat it just about every day on cereal, oatmeal or in a smoothie.0

I add them to my yoghurt every day, they add a nice crunch to salad as well.0

To get the most benefits out of them, you should ground them as whole flaxseeds can pass through the digestive tract undigested. Source: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/263405.php
I found this: http://www.wikihow.com/Grind-Flax-Seed
Hopefully you have one of those gadgets that'll be able to help you.
I also have an entire thing of whole flaxseeds in my pantry that have been sitting there for i don't know how long.0 -
They make excellent soft tortillas! Grind up about 30g of seeds. You can get get cheap coffee grinders. Mix it with some hot water and spices, rolled out between wrap, cook on skillet or oven. Then make whatever wrap you want.0

If you can grind them, I have been really enjoying muffins... I google "2-Minute All-Flax Muffin in a Mug". I even made that recipe in the oven and they turned out good. I add cocoa powder... its a low carb recipe. I can't wait to try the tortillas! Thanks lizjohnstonca!0

Put them in your cereal and oatmeal and enjoy trying to get them out of your teeth for 4 hours. You can tell the people at work that have flaxseeds or chia seeds0

I use ground flax instead of bread crumbs in meatloaf.
I also put them overnight with thawed blueberries and mix it with greek yogurt in the morning. They soak up the fruit juice and soften the seeds.
Maybe toast them and use in a stir fry, in place of sesame seeds?
Instead of hitting it with a hammer, try a DIY mortar & pestle. A heavy mug and a sturdy bowl should work.0 -
Maybe flax seed pancakes instead of flour:

I add them (ground) to almost everything I bake. Kids are over it now. lol0
