FitnessPal cardio calories burned

How accurate is MFP calorie calculation when you enter in the amount of time spent exercising? I entered in what the machine told me I burned which is a lot less than what MFP is telling me I burned.

It's an estimate, so it's hard to say for certain. For some people, it'll be very close. For others, it'll be way off (usually higher than actual, but could be lower, too). When you have 2 numbers, going with the lower is never a bad idea.

Also, a sanity check is to calculate the calories burned per minute. Any time that's more than 10 cals per minute, I start to get really suspicious. And even 10 can be high.

Thank you! I'll go with the lower number which is still a pretty good number! If it turns out in burning more then that's just a bonus!

I use MFP instead of what my treadmill says because it is usually a lot lower than the treadmill
