I'm not superfit but it wasn't as hard as I thought. Remember it's a 10mile run with exercises mixed in between. So focus on running first, although most people walk/run it. Then focus on grip strength exercises like pull-ups and core exercises like push-ups, dips and some crunches. Grip strength is key.

I've done it twice, weighing 260lb and 270lb.

Its straight forward enough and aims more towards being a grueling activity than a challenge and is 10x more of a mental challenge than a physical as you will reach all sorts of tired and "i'm not sure I can do this" type of thoughts but believe me, If I can do it - anyone can!

Loved it too, even after seeing some people injure themselves horrifically (a young girl snapped her leg backwards after awkwardly landing on her feet from a 10ft wall).

That shook us up a bit but still enjoyed it and the feeling of finishing it is incredible!

I did it and I am not super fit. Like the above mentioned you need lots of upper body strength (something that I lack in) and cardio endurance (for me that was the easiest since I run). But it was fun and grueling all at the same time. Start training now.
